Welcome to the Avelara Theme—a modern, customizable, and performance-optimized Shopify theme designed specifically to help womenswear and fashion brands stand out beautifully.

This guide will walk you through everything you need to get started—from initial installation to customizing your storefront to match your brand’s unique aesthetic.

Theme installation

    1. Log in to your Shopify Admin.
    2. Navigate to Online Store > Themes.
    3. In the Theme library section, click Add theme > Upload zip file.
    4. Choose your .zip theme package and upload it.
    5. After uploading, click Publish to make Avelara your live theme, or click Customize to start setting it up before going live.

Theme editor overview

Open the Theme Editor by clicking Customize on your theme. The editor is divided into a few key areas:

  • Left Sidebar: Controls the sections and blocks currently on your page.
  • Center Panel: Displays a live preview of your store.
  • Right Sidebar: Shows editable settings (text, images, alignment, colors, etc.) for whichever section or block you currently have selected in the left sidebar.

Page sections

Your homepage and other pages are built using Sections. Each section acts as a container that can hold Blocks, which define the specific layout and content inside that section.

Common sections included in Avelara to showcase your fashion collections include:

    • Slideshow 
    • Featured collection
    • Media grid
    • Countdown
    • Image card
    • Steps
    • Shop the look
    • Blog post

TIP

You can add new sections to any page by scrolling to the bottom of the left sidebar and clicking Add section.

Editing content blocks

Each block within a section has its own set of editable settings. Common blocks you will use include:

  • Title Block
    • Add your headline text.
    • Select heading size (H1-H6).
    • Align text (Left, Center, or Right).
  • Text Block
    • Add short descriptive text (great for product descriptions or brand storytelling).
    • Choose text size (H1-H6).
    • Align text (Left, Center, or Right).
  • Button Block
    • Add a button label and link URL (e.g., “Shop the Collection”).
    • Choose button style (Solid, Outline, or Transparent).
    • Align the button and adjust the spacing.

Global theme settings

Global settings affect the overall look and feel of your entire store. You can find these by clicking the Theme settings icon (usually a gear icon ⚙️) in the left sidebar of the Theme Editor:

    • Colors: Define a global color palette for backgrounds, buttons, and text to match your brand’s aesthetic.
    • Typography: Set the font family and size for headings, body text, and buttons. Avelara supports modern fonts that look great for fashion brands.
    • Social media: Add links to your brand’s social accounts (Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, etc.).
    • Favicon & Logo: Upload your store’s logo and a favicon (the small icon that appears in browser tabs).
